Remote Wireless Disconnect for Solar Inverter Output Circuit

I would like to remotely disconnect a solar inverter output circuit. The utility is requiring us to have a disconnect at the meter which is approximately 600' away and not line of sight. I'd like to be able to install a typical open air safety switch like an EATON DG221URB. If someone were to 'open' the disconnect it would initiate the signal from a transmitter to a receiver that would open the normally closed circuit at the solar inverter. Would I be able to accomplish this with a MirCR model?

I believe our MirC series would work in your application, you might take a look at this video so you understand MirC:

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Thanks for the link to the video, it was very helpful. The push button is just a switch, could I use something besides a pushbutton. Say a safety switch.. an Eaton DG221URB? I need to go through a building as I don't have line of site. Thanks for all your help.

Yes, you can use anything that makes a contact, even a light switch, though the Eaton DG221URB looks to be a little overkill.  But if that's the "look" you are going for, then it will be perfect.

Thanks,

I'll have to work it out that when they open that particular switch that it initiates the transmitter. I am planning to put the transmitter and receiver in a 4x plastic box below the switch. Is there anyway that I can have external lights, one red and one green, that would indicate whether the system is on (green) or off (red)? I think the utility will want some sort of indicator showing the relay in the receiver opened at the location of the transmitter.

Thanks,

Craig

Hi Craig,

We do not have any provisions for external lights, but there are on-board LEDs on the transmitter that indicate remote relay status.  The relay receiver also has on-board LEDs to indicate relay status.

Thanks,

Yes, this looks to be a good choice for your application.

Please let us know if you need anything else.

Thank you. What model of antenna would you recommend?

R

Antennas are included, I would start with the included antennas, as they are very good.

Thanks,
